Equipment
The setting and genre of your game will determine the kind of equipment that is available for your character.
Supply
Not all goods and services are available in every village and town. Every item has a Supply trait. If there is ever a doubt that an item is in a shop's inventory, roll against its Supply rating.
- Common (18)- Available at any village or marketplace. Likely available with traveling vendors.
- Uncommon (12) - Can usually be purchased from a specialty vendor. Not always available.
- Rare (6) - Special order item, rarely carried in stock.
- Unique(3) - Generally only found in treasure hordes or unavailable for purchase.
Encumbrance
You can carry a number of items equal to your STR score without difficulty. Only items in your inventory count toward your encumbrance - readied and worn items do not.
Food:
Up to four rations of food count as a single item for encumbrance.
Containers:
Containers such as a backpack or saddlebags count as 1 item for encumbrance and allow you to ignore the items inside them when calculating total encumbrance.
Heavy Items
Large or heavy items count as multiple items for calculating Encumbrance. These items will tell you how much they weigh in their description.
Tiny Items
If an item is small enough to fit in your palm, you may carry a number equal to your STR Base Talent before they count as 1 item toward your Encumbrance.
Coins
Coins are a special kind of item - coins count as 1 item foe every 100 you are carrying.
Over-Encumbered
If you attempt to carry more items than your STR Score, you must make a roll against STR to act normally every time you take an action.
Carrying Others
While carrying another character or NPC, you automatically count as Over-Encumbered.
Mounts & Vehicles
A mount or vehicle can carry your equipment for you. However, they will have their own encumbrance limit that will need tracking.
